Buoy Explorer NOAA Marine Weather Conditions App Reviews

I have been looking for a simple boaters app like this one. I cant get any buoy wave data to appear in the app. I have tried all the buoys and not one of them is showing me wave info. Its hard to think that all the buoys are broken so that leads me to believe there is a problem in your code. So I will have to give you 3 stars review.

I downloaded this app looking for sea conditions. The only part of the app that works is wind speed and direction. I already have an app for that. This needs a major fix before it is worth trying to use!

Dont waste your money

This app is great! I love how I could tell the water temperature and wind speed to tell when I could go surfing. Very handy!

I use it to check the surf in Lake Michigan, and yes, there is surf in Lake Michigan!

Clean design, convenient control gesture and accurate data. Thats all i need

Worthwhile and helpful for boaters or weather geeks near the coast. Seems to have a little problem with network code; regularly gives errors that data cant be downloaded/network not available when in fact the network connection is strong and every other app works fine.

The app seems pretty slick but if you are in Miami you only get wind and temp.

Wave height values hardly ever show....cool concept but the apps a dud

I downloaded the app for mere sake of simplicity. It had the things I wanted such as wind speed wave height and seconds between swells. Upon paying 5 dollars i quickly found out app is only updated once an hour and doesnt show real time info if any info at all for the buoy you select. Upon speaking with customer service they stated and quote "Unfortunately most of the buoys in the Chesapeake area are older models that dont have all the necessary physical sensors available. Most people in that area just use data from multiple buoys to estimate the conditions for the areas they care about. I have requested the NDBC/NOAA to add more buoys to this area but it is not a priority for them". Support did seem interested in making the app better however for 5 bucks they should of addressed that prior to launching the app. This may be better in other areas that have updated sensors per-sae however I would not spend five dollars again

Im an avid surfer. I love relying on buoy data to know if certain spots are working, but most NOAA websites are just hideous and illegible. Buoy Explorer has the nicest interface of any buoy app Ive seen - I rely on it now more than any other app for surfing. Worth every cent.

Pure junk,total rip off. You would be much better off with a local marine forecast. Made a mistake and read the reviews after I purchased.

Dont buy it. It only works when it wants to, and only updates when it feels like.

I have a refund pending. Wish I read all of the reviews. This app crashes every single time I open it. At any price (let alone $4.99) an app should work as advertised. This is the only app I have requested a refund for.

Terrible app!! Waste of money!!

This app freezes every single time you open it up, and never works the way it should! Total waste of money! Highly disappointed!

The app doesnt refresh data and says I need to connect to the Internet. Its connected for sure because I can post to my dismay. Save your money until they fix this complete failure.

Very useful in determining if its a good day to go offshore fishing in a 24 boat.
